Let's say Bye Bye to Breast Cancer

This post is for every woman over 20.  And it is not just for women. Every man who has a sister,  wife, mother  or daughter needs to be aware  as how to fight Breast Cancer.

October is National  Breast Cancer Awareness month

100,000 women will be diagnosed with Breast Cancer.  50, 000 of them will die just because they were diagnosed late. Breast Cancer risk increases with age and every woman is at risk.

Indusladies.com. the largest Online community for Indian woman from far flung corners of the world and the very popular blogging host Blogadda are bringing an Online Breast Cancer awareness Campaign

As part of the campaign Indusladies  has brought about an Awareness Quiz.  I took part in the online quiz and received a Quiz No. Indusladies is giving 50% discount on Mammograms with Indusladies Health Care partners which are Appollo, Fortis and Jaslok hospitals.  So take that quiz and get your voucher ID and take a printout of the coupon and get a Mammogram done.  But you must do this before 31st October.

Risks for breast cancer include:

 a family history

delaying pregnancy until after age 30

 never becoming pregnant

early menstruation ( before age 12)

 late menopause (after age 55)

Current use or use in the last ten years of oral contraceptive

daily consumption of alcohol.

Not many are aware that men too can get breast cancer . though the causes of it are not very clear.

For every woman taking this quiz, Indusladies will donate Rs 1 to Forum for Breast Cancer protection. The goal is to get 100,000 to take this quiz and raise a substantial amount of Funds for the forum and to  create awareness about early detection of Breast cancer. Every woman over 20 can be at risk. Taking a mammogram is very useful as Breast Cancer usually shows up on a woman's Mammogram before it can be felt or any symptoms are present.

To  give this campaign a wider spectrum i am tagging five of my fellow blogger friends

Besides Awareness quiz and Fund raising , the Campaign  includes Download Guides and Prevention Videos.

Let's all join hands to make this campaign a success and prevent thousands of women from dying from Breast Cancer.
