When actress and model Namrata Shirodkar,  reached the top 5 position in Miss India contest, she along with the other 4 beauties was asked  to jot down the answer to the  question, 'Who came first, the chicken or the egg? Prove it!'  Her seemingly simple and convincing answer tipped the scales in her favor and she won the Miss India Crown in 1993.

According to the Bible, the chicken came first:
"And the evening and the morning were the fourth day. And God said, 'Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.'"     Genesis 1:10-20.

The correct answer to this question has baffled philosopher from Pluto to Stephen Hawking.  Whatever be the truth,  hens had been domesticated in Europe since 600 B.C.
A lot of people who are vegetarians , also call themselves as Eggetarians.

 Chickens came to the New World with Columbus on his second trip in 1493.

  A large egg contains only 75 calories and 5 grams of fat.
