Kingdom Of Dreams 1

As the name implies, Kingdom of Dreams is a spectacular world of unparalleled imagination, which brings to you a blend of India’s culture, heritage, art, crafts, cuisine and performing arts.

Kingdom of Dreams (KOD)  is designed and conceptualized to offer international and domestic tourists a breath-taking, magical Indian experience. It showcases modern and traditional India and present Indian culture in an entertaining format to all visitors. It offers you the best of India in the form of Cuisine, Crafts, Musicals, Dramas, Carnivals, Street Dances, Mythological Shows and much more.

Situated in Sector 29, Gurgaon, it is promoted by none other than the Bollywood superstar

 Shah Rukh Khan!

The Tag line, 'Yeh Nahi Dekha Toh Kuch Nahi Dekha' is absolutely true.  I discovered this for

myself as i recently visited the unbelievable Entertainment Centre.

KOD opens at 1300 hours and continues till midnight.  The best time to visit KOD is in the

evening when the entire campus is lit up.

It has many interesting features:

The Culture Gully

• An air-conditioned ‘indoor street of India’ spread over 100,000 sq feet under a fabulous sky dome

• A kaleidoscope of India’s unique cultural diversity

• 14 State Pavilions

• Carnival of Indian Folk Art & Dance everyday

Nautanki Mahal

Which showcases a Magical Musical extravaganza titled 'ZANGOORA'

in a world class theatre, combining talent with world class technology.

The Black Light Theatre

An unsual theatrical expereince  with performers brought all the way from Prague,  Czech

which is ethereal, graceful, awe inspiring with a totally unexpected finale.

The distinctive characteristics of "black theatre" are the use of black curtains, a darkened stage, and "black lighting" (UV light), paired with fluorescent costumes in order to create intricate visual illusions . This unique technique, paired with the expressive artistry of dance, mime and acrobatics of the performers is able to create remarkable spectacles.

The show is open till 8 January 2012.

Inspired by the hugely popular IIFA Awards,

held each year in exotic locales of the world, this is

planned as a complete Bollywood experience. With Bollywood theme decor, music, props,

posters and star memorabilia, it is a journey into the nation crazy world of Indian cinema.

I am sharing in two posts, a few pictures of this amazing Entertainment destination in Gurgaon.
