One of the may attractions of the mela...........
A colorful rangoli
Outside the Assam Theme Pavillion....
A magnificent groove of bamboo
Mud walls on the boundary depicting scenes from Assam...
As i walked back to Gate 2 for my exit, i found these children enjoying a camel ride.
A colorful rangoli
Outside the Assam Theme Pavillion....
Inside the Assam theme Pavillion.... looms
Throughout the mela ground are perched these colorful straw hats from Aassam..............
One of the may gates and arches inside the meal grounds
And that brings me to an end of this post. This year i deliberately did not focus on the handicrafts available as my previous posts on the Mela have plenty of pictures of those.
When you visit the Assam Tourism office, request the staff to give you literature. I came back with a CD 'Destination Assam' by Directorate of Tourism, Govt of Assam, a glossy Handbook, an Incredible India Assam Tourism Desk Calendar and several other colorful brochures on exotic places to visit in Assam, which i plan to read at leisure.
The Mela is still on till the 15th of this month. So go ahead and enjoy this marvelous annual event. And if you are feeling adventurous, do take that Helicopter ride.
Happy Times!
