Preeti Shenoy and the 2012 World Book Fair

I attended the Delhi  world Book fair after many years.  This year, my interest was awakened due to two reasons.  My having taking up Blogging, and the second , more exciting reason was to meet the Best selling author Preeti Shenoy who graced the fair yesterday.

Preeti's scheduled visit at Hall No 6, at the Flipkart Stall was at 3 p.m. So i, along with my daughters reached the venue well in advance to explore the mega event.

As we walked from Gate No 2 towards the main Hall,

 which i think is Hall No 6, we saw colorful hoardings of publishers

 who were participating in the Fair.

As we walked inside and turned  towards left, the first thing that caught my attention was this:

Our National Anthem.

And there were many more fascinating and uplifting pictures from the literary world.  Take a look:

As we walked around i explored more of the exhibition area and  many more Halls.

We stopped at the Open foods court for a bite,

 which was bustling with book lovers quickly grabbing a bite in between their perusal of the Fair.

My younger daughter bought a few books on Hospitality and finally we made our way back to the Flipkart
Stall in Hall No 6.

Since Preeti Shenoy was to make  a presence there, as part of the Delhi launch of her brand new novel, 'Tea for Two and a Piece of Cake' 

the ambiance was one of a coffee House

 with a Panel seat for the author and chair for the audience.  Soon i was joined by my Blogger friend Ruchira .

Preeti arrived half an hour before the scheduled time and easily mixed with the crowd waiting for her. It was  indeed a happy moment to see the author of the bestselling novel, 'Life Is What You Make It' in flesh.  Ruchira, I and a few others interacted happily with Preeti where she shared her Blogging experiences with us.

And then, it was time for her to take stage and  address the audience ,

which she did happily, punctuated with her warm laughter.

When asked by the editor of Random House, the publisher of her brand new novel, 'Tea For Two and A Piece of Cake', who she would like to see enact Nisha as  the protagonist of her novel, if it were to be made into a movie, she replied laughingly, 'I think Vidya Balan would be great!'.

Post the Session, she happily posed with the audience, and i have this great pic as a memory of having met her yesterday:
