It is Valentine Time!

Well well it is THAT day again.  Its is VALENTINE"s Day!!!

The day when everyone from kids to moony eyed youngsters, young couple and old fogies feel the magic in the air.  True, many trash the very idea of dedicating a SINGLE day for Love, but i personally feel it is not a bad idea.  By focusing on a single day, we a r forced to pause and reflect on the significance of that day.  True, you can include love as part of an essential ingredient of every day life, but it is STILL fun to have one day to celebrate LOVE.

And if the retailers and  Event Management make hay while the sun shines, so be it.  After all it is a democratic and free world we are fortunate enough to live in our beloved country.

This is what Wikipedia says about Valentine's Day:

The day first became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages when the tradition of courtly love flourished. By the 15th century, it had evolved into an occasion in which lovers expressed their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery  and sending greeting cards.

Modern Valentine's Day symbols include the heart shaped outline, doves, and the figure of the winged  cupid. Since the 19th century, handwritten valentines have given way to mass-produced greeting cards.
The rise of Internet popularity at the turn of the millennium is creating new traditions. Millions of people use, every year, digital means of creating and sending Valentine's Day greeting messages such as e-cards,  love coupons or printable greeting cards. An estimated 15 million e-valentines were sent in 2010.
And yet  14th February..........

" Isn't just about hearts, cupid, red roses

 lil heart shaped boxes

It's also about friendship

 togetherness ".

Google has come up with the cutest doodle..... an animated video which says so much more than words.

Check it out:

Sweet, isn't it?

Thanks to my daughter, who showed me this.

So today, you don't necessarily have to celebrate love, though that will always remain its CORE agenda.

It is also about showing and sharing LOVE with everyone and anyone.  Family, Friends
. Colleagues.  And you name it.

Perhaps the greatest way to celebrate this day would be to give your precious time and attention to someone going through a difficult time and give them the hope and message of LOVE.

As a parting  wish ,i pray that all young people who are single today, find their true Valentine in 2013.  So while the day is still young, go and celebrate the spirit of Love.

Happy Valentine's Day to all!
