Ganpati Bappa

My small collection of Ganapti idols........:)

BELOVED Lord Krishna

No, today is not Janamashtami. But for some reason Lord Krishna is on my mind.  Hence this post, an offering to the Lord..............

Mere Banke Bihari ka
DARBAAR  bada sona hai
Jadon darshan khulte hain
DEEDAR bada sona hai.....

Mainu  loki puchde hain
Tere PRITAM  keda hai
Main has has kehndi  hain
 Mera PYAR bada sona hai....

Mainu even nai milya
mere guru ne milaya  hai
mere SADGURU pyare da
UPHAAR  bada sona hai

mere utte hun koi
dooja  rang nahi chad sakda
jine mainu RANGYA  hai
o RANGREZ bada sona hai

Jadon darshan khulde hain
deedar bada sona hai...........

Thus goes one of the favorite Bhajans sung during Sat Sang in my neighborhood.

When  one remembers Lord Krishna we also recall his famous childhood. :

According to Bhagavata Purana, Krishna was born without a sexual union, but by divine "mental transmission" from the mind of Vasudeva into the womb of Devaki. Based on scriptural details and astrological calculations the date of Krishna's birth, known as Janmashtami, is 18 July 3228 BCE and departed on 3102 BCE. Krishna belonged to the Vrishni clan of Yadavas from Mathura, and was the eighth son born to the princess Devaki, and her husband Vasudeva.

Krishna is worshiped along with his Gopi consort Radha.

Their love was beyond physical. mental, bordering on spiritual and soulful.

Yet he was also loved by the Rajasthani queen Meera,

who gave up her queenly existence  to become a jogan and spent her entire life singing and yearning for the Lord.

The following Bhajan depicts beautifully the TWO WOMEN for whom Krishna was their whole  existence.

Hope you enjoyed this lovely Bhajan,

Jai  SHRI KRISHNA!
